Emporian for Drug Awareness also will co-sponsor a Town Hall Meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the Kanza Room at ESU’s Memorial Union. Other sponsors are the Emporia school district’s Safe & Drug Free Schools, Flint Hills Technical College and Emporia State University.
The meeting will feature a panel of experts that will answer questions and provide information about understage drinking, social hosting laws, and local issues. Panel members are: Holly K. Baker of Kansas City, State Sen. Jim Barnett, Michelle Voth of Kansas Family Partnership and Joe Garmen of the Kansas department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
“(Baker) has a compelling story about drinking and driving that ended in the death of one of her best friends,” said EDA director Mike Crouch.
