Newman Regional Health board of directors heard a financial report Wednesday afternoon that puts some departments under the number of patients budgeted for.
According to a report submitted to the board, the hospital expected 107 inpatient surgery cases last month. There were only 79, a decrease from August’s numbers.
The average daily census for September was 44. The hospital budgeted for an average patient load of 57.9 patients.
On the flip side, outpatient revenues were above expectations by $850,042.
In other business, board members approved a $342,332 capitol expenditure for a radiology flouro room, approved an emergency expenditure of $48,940 for new computer equipment in the sleep lab and approved switching the employee health plan from self insurance to the state plan.
