Emporian Troy Ross drove his ‘69 Nova to a win in the Pro E.T. category last weekend at Heartland Park in Topeka, earning the sixth victory of his career.
The triumph moved the 21-year-old Ross from fifth to second in the final points standings. Ross has taken second place in two of the last three years.
Ross’ previous outing at Hearland Park resulted in a runner-up finish at the Division 5 E.T. finals. Ross worked his way through a field of 196 other competitors and fell just short in the final to earn second place.
The event brought together the best racers in the Division to compete from 21 tracks spanning over 10 states. Ross was one round away from being able to compete for the national championship in Pomona, Calif., against the United States’ six other division champions.
Ross still gained national recognition, as the article and results were placed in National Dragster magazine.
