Emporia city commission
A lengthy study session is on the agenda for the City Commission study session that begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the City Conference Room.
The agenda includes reviews of:
• increases in solid waste fees
• renewing the Neighborhood Revitalization Program
• proposed park rental fees
• policy on sale of alcohol in William L. White Auditorium
• purchase of a sidewalk and parking lot sweeper
• payment toward the retail development study
• an ordinance to modify zoning code for pole signs
The commission also will discuss several items carried over from last week’s action session. Hill’s incentive complilance agreement, an escrow agreement with Norfolk Iron and Metal, industrial revenue bond amendments for NIM, and accepting a community development block grant award. Action on those items is expected to be taken at the commission’s Oct. 31 meeting.
A luncheon to present employee service awards will be held after the meeting in the Little Theater of the civic building.
