Fund raiser

Come to Hartford to support a neighbor from 5 to 7 p.m .Sunday. The benefit at the new Hartford Community Center will assist Bill and Annabelle Payton with expences for their daughter, Teia, who is on dialysis as she waits for another kidney.

On the menu will be vegetable soup, chili and chicken & noodles with a dessert and a drink.

Library news

During story hour at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, we’ll be talking and learning about apples. The library has videos, DVDs and magazines that can be checked out by patrons. You are invited to browse through our large collection of large print books and audio books.

School news

• The Scholar Bowl team will compete at 4 p.m. today at Marmaton Valley.

• The final regular-season football game kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday. It’s parents’ night as the Hartford Jaquars play the Madison Bulldogs. The Lyon Coffey Electric Company will host a tailgate party starting at 5 p.m.

• The Hartford High School and Junior High Booster Club meets at 7 p.m. Sunday.
