Recycling

The Lyon County Recycling Trailer will be parked in front of the Northern Heights High School near Allen on Nov. 8 and Dec. 6 and 20. The schedule will continue on an every-other-Thursday basis.

Recyclables collected will be cardboard, glass, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, plastic milk jugs, plastic pop bottles, No. 1 and No. 2 plastics and tin cans.   Holiday parade

The annual Holiday Lighted Parade will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 with entries lining up at 6 p.m. The parade theme will be “Historic Holiday 2007”.

All entries must be lighted and they will be judged on most original use of lights, nest depiction of the parade theme and judges’ choice. For information, call (620) 443-5546.

Library news  Story time for preschool children is from 9:30 to 10 a.m. every Thursday morning. A book sale will be held for the entire month of October in the library meeting room. Dana Ekstrom has joined Anita Westcott and Sandi Simmons on the library staff.
