The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau announced this morning that Betty Senn, former program services manager for the state Job Service Center in Emporia, has been hired as the new director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau. Senn replaces Liz Martell, who resigned last month.
Senn, a longtime Emporian, will start her new job in November.
Before she went to work for the state, Senn was human resources coordinator for Sauder Custom Fabrication.

Congratulations! You have your hands full. Some suggestions for success: 1. Disassociate yourself from the "good old boys" of Emporia. 2. Get Tyson to stop polluting the air. 3. If you are unable to accomplish 1 and 2 there is no reason to go on. You job will be impossible.
