Seventeen Emporia High School students joined more than 330 high school singers from around the state at the third annual Bethania Choral Workshop last month at Bethany College in Lindsborg.
Bethany music faculty helped prepare the singers for competitions by rehearsing assigned audition pieces. Mass choir rehearsals were led by Daniel Mahraun, director of choral activities at Bethany. Sectional rehearsals were led by other members of the Bethany music faculty.
The college offered the workshops at no cost to participants or their schools, and lunch was provided.
Students who attended from Emporia were: Jamie Schmidt, Alyssa Boesche, Briana Alvarado, Abigail Triemer, Bekah Kvas, Ninive DeLa Rosa, Adam Coburn, Donny Tennal, Dylan Sherwood, Abby Phelps, Delano Mendoza, Cami Shaw, Dylan Bandel, Adam Helmer, Sarah Roemer, Caleb Rankin and Bryanna Goza. ShereƩ Stoppel is the EHS vocal music director.
