Downtown clean-up

The second of two downtown clean-up days is slated for Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The clean-up day will include tasks like cutting all the plants back for the winter and, in general, getting everything ready for winter.
“That’s the big, big day,” said Kayla Oney, Emporia Main Street director.
“We invite everybody to come,” Oney said. “We have a volunteer base with our committees, but anybody is welcome to volunteer.”
All volunteers are asked to meet at 7:50 a.m. at the Main Street office, 12 E. Fifth Ave. The clean-up will include all of downtown.
