Traffic safety
The Traffic Safety Committee meets at 1 p.m. Monday in the City Conference Room, 521 Market St. The agenda includes discussion of parking assistance for downtown residents and installation of a handicapped parking stall in the area of Dollar General at Seventh Avenue and Merchant Street and requests from the health department to change the street parking in front of their building and for a stop sign or yield sign at T intersection for Westridge Court traffic at Westridge Drive.
Emporia rec
The regular board meeting of the Emporia Recreation Commission will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Lee Beran Recreation Center. The agenda includes an overview of summer camp programs, improvements to the recreation center, update on natatorium lighting, Soden’s Grove improvements, restroom renovation at Whittier Park and the ERC strategic plan and approval of recommended program and activity fee changes for 2008.
