Demolition was to begin today on the Corner House, 418 Market St., to clear the way for construction of the agency’s new Recovery Center. Corner House treats men and women with alcohol and drug problems. It recently successfully completed a drive to match a challenge grant to provide money for construction of the new building.
The new building will have space for 20 residential patients and increased space for outpatient services. Completion is set for November 2008.
During construction, Corner House administration and outpatient will be in temporary quarters at 701B Commercial St. and in-patient services will be at another site.
