Emporia board of education to meet in regular meeting

Assistant Superintendent for Business Susan Hernandez is among school district employees who have announced plans to retire at the end of the 2007-08 contract year. The Emporia board of education will consider those announcements as part of the consent agenda when members meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Mary Herbert Education Center. Others who plan to retire are Janice Briggs, enrichment services at Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative; Shirley Langley, interrelated services for the cooperate at Village, and Cindy Stephen, counselor at Emporia High School.
The board also will continue its scrutiny of a bullying policy for the district, and will appoint a delegate and alternates to the Kansas Association of School Boards delegate assembly. A review of the summer food service program report and consideration of a donation for Challenge Day activities also are on the agenda.
