Roosevelt Class of 1957
The Roosevelt High School class of 1957 had its reunion in June, celebrating its 50th year.
Karen Eppink Remington and David DeLong were the hosts for the Friday evening social hour, held at the William Allen White House state historic site at 927 Exchange St. The evening concluded with dinner at the Olpe Chicken House. On Saturday, the group took a bus tour to Council Grove and then to the Council Grove lake for lunch at the Marvin and Lavon Place Brockelman home. That evening, the banquet was held at the Emporia Country Club. Billie Max and Gayla Atchison Browning were hosts for a noon luncheon at their home on Sunday. Assisting with the food were Mildred Brickley Gunkel and Shirley Rees Kusmaul.

EHS Class of 1972
The 35th Emporia High School reunion for the class of 1972 was held the weekend of Sept. 28 in Emporia. On Friday, some members met at the Homecoming football game of Emporia High School; after the game, several went to the Wagon Wheel to rekindle old friendships.
The reunion reporter said that on Saturday, the day started with a picnic at Peter Pan Park and ended with a “very delicious” steak, smoked potato, salad and vegetable dinner prepared by classmate Mike Barrett and his wife, Brenda. The Barrett’s also provided a band later in the evening.
