Police arrest two women on robbery, auto theft

Man falls victim to robbers

Sunday, October 7, 2007

Two women are in the Lyon County Jail for allegedly robbing a man in the 10 block of West 10th Avenue and stealing his truck.

Cynthia M. Wilson, 41, and Cheryl Guinn, 38, were arrested by Emporia police shortly after a man reported the incident to Emporia police.

According to a press release from Sgt. David DeVries, a man reported he had been attacked by two black females, who had stolen items from his person. When he went to call police, the suspects got into his truck and drove away. The women allegedly had taken his keys during the robbery.

Officer Ray Mattis located the vehicle in the 2100 block of West Sixth Avenue shortly after the man reported the incident.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Lyon County Jail.

Charges of robbery and auto theft are pending, as the investigation continues.

I'm impressed with the quick work of the EPD to locate the truck and make arrests of the two women. Good job!
