BPA officers announced
Officers for Business Professionals of America were announced for 2007-08. They are: Lannie Lyman of Hartford, president; Samantha Aikman of Emporia, vice president; Brandi Cheever of Emporia, secretary; Brian Bolen of Emporia, treasurer; Cinderella Countryman of Emporia, historian and Stacy Muse of Olpe, parliamentarian.
BPA is a national organization for high school, college and middle-school students preparing for careers in business and information technology occupations. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
Truck Driver Training
Flint Hills Technical College, in partnership with Safe Horizons CDL Training Center, offered the first Class A Commercial Driver Course on Monday. The four-week course entails 160 contact hours of instruction and prepares students for a career as a professional truck driver in local, regional and national positions.
