City and county offices closed on Monday
Most city and county offices will be closed Monday for a joint staff development day.
Emergency law enforcement and fire services will still be available by calling 911. Refuse collection services will be provided on the usual schedule, but the transfer station will be closed to the public.
Spay and neuter discount this month
The Humane Society of the Flint Hills is offering a $10 discount for each animal (two per family) during its Spay/Neuter Program this month.
The offer, applied at the time of payment, is for residents of Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties.
Calling for an appointment means shorter visits, happier owners and grateful veterinarians, according to a news release, and also “healthier and happier pets.”
Madison board agenda
U.S.D. 386 Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Board of Education office in Madison.
The agenda includes audit engagement letter from Ron Bouska, current accounts payable, activity fund reports, treasurer’s report, public forum, discussion and vote on board policies, student drug testing, additional reports and executive sessions.
Neosho Rapids council to meet
The Neosho Rapids City Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the city community building.
The meeting is open to the public.
