City Commissioners could hike residential solid waste collection fees by $2.62 a month at its meeting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Municipal Court Room, 518 Mechanic St.
If approved, the fee for residential polycart service will rise to $13.12 a month from $10.50, beginning Jan. 1. Commercial Dumpster charges will not change.
The 25 percent increase in home collection fees had been raised during the summer budget process.
In other business, commissioners have four proclamations to approve and its consent agenda, and will accept an award from the Kansas branch of the American Water Works Association for best tasting water.
They likely will choose Waters Consulting Group of Dallas to conduct a wage and classification study of city employees and adopt a new mission statement for the zoo. Three bids are up for approval, as is a pipeline construction and connection agreement. The city manager’s report will be heard, too.
