ORGANIZERS of the Emporia Christmas Parade. The parade was well attended and had 77 entries.
- Emporia State University basketball player Michelle Stueve, who was named as the MIAA player of the week. Stueve averaged 25.6 points and 9 rebounds in the Cameron Thanksgiving Classic.
- Stan Perry at East Emporia Veterinary Hospital, who donates medications and care for Lyon County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Officer Tito. Hill’s Pet Foods provides food.
- Organizers and participants in the TFI auction. The event raised money to buy Christmas presents for children in foster care.
- Bobby D’s Merchant Street BBQ, which celebrated six years in business on Tuesday.
- The ESU men’s and women’s basketball teams, which are both ranked nationally. The men are ranked 10th and the women are ranked seventh.
- Belatedly, a pat on the back and a hug to the good people at the Church of Christ, who once again gave up their Thanksgiving to make and serve a great meal for those who found themselves alone on the holiday.
