Emporia State senior Michelle Stueve became the second consecutive Lady Hornet to win MIAA player of the week honors, the conference announced Monday.
Stueve, a 6-foot-2 senior from Olpe, averaged 25.6 points and 9 rebounds in ESU’s two games at the Cameron Thanksgiving Classic last week.
Stueve had 27 points against Cameron on Friday, going 8-for-14 from the field.
Against Central Oklahoma the next day, she had 24 points and 12 rebounds, making 7 of her 9 three-point attempts.
Stueve became the first ESU women’s player to score at least 20 points in each of her team’s first four games since U.S. Olympian Patricia Roberts did it in the 1975-76 season.
