Peace vigil planned

A march and vigil for peace will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10, beginning at the First Christian Church, 202 E. 12th Ave.
The Flint Hills Peace Vigil, nondenominational and nonpartisan, is open to everyone in Emporia and surrounding communities. Participants will walk from the church to the Civic Building at Sixth Avenue and Mechanic Street to join the vigil, which will begin at about 7 p.m.
Bus service will be available between the start and end points. Participants may park near White Auditorium and take the bus to the starting point or park in the church parking lot and ride the bus back to their cars. L-Cat will offer service between the two points before 6:30 and after 7:30 p.m. Participants are each asked to take a candle.
