The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission voted Monday night to grant a minor plat on a piece of land to Re/Max Select Realtors and Emporia State Federal Credit Union and then voted to rezone the land.
The decisions, each approved by 6-0 votes, bring Emporia State Federal Credit Union a step closer to building an automated teller machine on the southeast corner of 24th Avenue and Industrial Road, near the shopping center that includes Radio Shack. The city commission must approve the ATM.
In the staff update concluding the short meeting, Planning Commission Secretary Kevin Hanlin said there had been an inquiry about renting out the Modine property for possible use as a warehouse. Hanlin said that issue could come up sometime in January.
