Lodge breakfasts
The members of the Americus Masonic Lodge have announced that the monthly fund-raising breakfasts will resume the second Saturday in January. For information, Claude Roswurm (620) 443-5570.
Sesquicentennial book
Information is currently being gathered concerning the buildings on Main Street. Dates, names, locations, and other pertinent information will be helpful. The book will be available by the Americus Alumni dinner in May. Order forms may be picked up at the Americus Township Library or City Hall. The cutoff date for ordering the book will be in March. Advance orders are needed for this project. For information, call Jan Huston (620) 443-5214.

Saturday
Sesquicentennial lunch — The final lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. in the USD 251 Meeting Room. A Christmas Casserole will be the main dish furnished by the Americus Chamber of Commerce. Guests and members are asked to bring a side dish and tableware. The ESU Teachers of Tomorrow will be guests.
Santa — Children and adults, too, are invited to have lunch with Santa at the Breckinridge County Cafe from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be taken and a kid-friendly meal will be served for a moderate price.
Crafts — The ESU Teachers of Tomorrow will have crafts for kids at the Americus Township Library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Parade — The “Historic Holiday 2007” will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Main and Walnut with line-up beginning at 5:30 p.m. Soups and desserts — Soups and desserts will be served at the Presbyterian Annex beginning at 5 p.m.
Hank the Cow Dog — The Emporia Community Theater will present Hank the Cow Dog in readers theater setting in the USD 251 Meeting Room at 7 p.m.
