Moran to visit
U.S. Rep. Jerry Moran will meet with veterans Thursday to discuss health care and benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The forum will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at American Legion Post 5, 2921 W. 12th Ave. Dan Umlauf, director for the Robert J. Dole VA Regional Office in Wichita, and Marie Weldon, director for the VA Hospital in Topeka, will join Moran to hear the thoughts and concerns of veterans.
This is the 10th forum on veterans’ issues hosted by Moran. Previous forums have taken place in McPherson, Junction City, Marion, Cimarron, Sabetha, Salina, Clay Center, Goodland and Hutchinson. Moran is a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and has served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health.
Members of Moran’s staff will be on hand along with representatives from the VA to handle any concerns that veterans or their families may have. All area veterans and members of the public are encouraged to attend.
