Extension office to move
The Lyon County Extension Office will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for its move to new quarters. The office will re-open at 8 a.m. Friday in its temporary location at 402 Commercial St. It will be next to the Lyon County Council on Aging in the county annex building.
Hours in the new location will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 341-3220.
Birthday reception
Former Americus resident Hester Haber will be the guest of honor at a reception and card shower at 3 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Olathe Good Samaritan Nursing Home to celebrate her 90th birthday. Cards can be sent to her at 20705 W. 151st St., Olathe, KS 66061.
Card shower
A card shower is requested for Frances Gilman, who will celebrate her 85th birthday on Saturday. Cards may be sent to 1201 Martindale, Apt. E12, Burlington, KS 66839.
