Madison
The Madison News reported that Congressman Jerry Moran will be visiting Greenwood County during his annual Big First Listening Tour. Moran is visiting communities in each of the 69 counties of the First Congressional District and will be in Madison from 7 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the Sauder Center, 110 S. First St.
Lebo
The Coffey County Republican reported that Lebo will collect a one-percent city sales tax for at least five years. Voters approved the tax 75-40 in a special question election held recently. The sales tax will take effect on April 1, 2008, and will expire on March 31, 2013.
Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that “Jingle All the Way” is the theme of Burlington’s annual Christmas Parade that will be on Dec. 8. The parade will start at Second and Neosho and will travel west on Neosho Street to Sixth Street.
