Hunt for Hunger
A group of local hunters have organized a charitable and fun “Hunt for Hunger” competition to help the needy in our area this holiday season.
The two-person team event runs from Friday, Dec. 7, through Sunday, Dec. 9, and will provide wild game for the Salvation Army to use in its food-assistance programs.
Deer that are harvested will be donated to the Farmers & Hunters Helping Feed the Hungry (FHFH) organization, and any money generated from the sale of furs will be given to Camp Alexander to help with the purchase of equipment for its youth outdoor skills program.
Winning teams, along with all those who participate in the fund-raiser, will be recognized Sunday and treated to a hunter’s banquet where cash, prizes and gift certificates will be awarded.

Any girls interested in playing fastpitch softball next summer in either the 14-and-under or 18-and-under age group need to contact Emporia Energy coach Jeff Lynch at 343-3639.
