Senior citizens center
Lunch is served from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at 512 Locust. The cost for 60 years of age and over is a $2.75 donation and for under 60 years of age, $4.50. Reservations may be made by calling Jacquii Anderson, (620) 443-5352.

Reserve a seat on the bus by calling the Americus Senior Center, (620) 443-5352, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To reserve at other times, call 343-4207. A 24-hour notice is required for a reservation.
Recreation activities
Basketball registration forms from the Americus Recreation Organization are due at City Hall for grades 3 through 6. For information, (620) 443-5655. ARO board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month. Board members are: Marcia Johnson, registration; Tim Delcamp, fields; Melissa Rich, treasurer; Denise King, uniforms; and Josh Hamlin equipment manager. Let a board member know if you are interested in helping make a difference for the youth in the community.
Plow day
Dennis Schroeder and Dale Grimsley, Flint Hills Antique Power Association members from Americus, took part in Plow Day on Saturday. Schroeder drove an 820 John Deere and pulled a 4-bottom plow while Grimsley drove a 1953 Farmall Super H and pulled a 2-bottom plow.
