These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:
Breakfast
Monday: cereal and muffin or PopTarts.
Tuesday: sausage and cheese biscuit or cereal and graham cookies.
Wednesday: pizza or cereal and graham cookies.
Thursday: Thanksgiving, no school.
Friday: no school.
Lunch
Monday: cheeseburger on a bun, french fries, baby carrots and dip, mandarin oranges.
Tuesday: crispitos, nacho chips and cheese sauce, tossed salad, applesauce.
Wednesday: turkey fritter, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, dinner roll, peach half, frosted pumpkin bar.
Thursday: Thanksgiving, no school.
Friday: no school.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: meatballs, fettucini alfredo, stir fry vegetables, roll, fruit cup.
Tuesday: chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, ginger snap medley, bread, pineapple chunks.
Wednesday: turkey, stuffing, gravy, green beans, wheat roll, pumpkin pie.
Thursday: Thanksgiving, closed.
Friday: closed.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: chicken and noodles, spinach, wheat bread, hot spiced peaches.
Tuesday: barbecue beef on a bun, potato salad, vegetables, fruit tapioca cream.
Wednesday: hamburger and cheese casserole, tossed salad, garlic bread, gelatin with fruit.
Thursday: Thanksgiving, closed.
Friday: closed.
