Rotary Scholarship
In 2004 the Rotary Club of Emporia began a multi-year project to establish a $20,000 scholarship with the Flint Hills Technical College Foundation to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Rotary International.
Over the past three years, the club held several fundraisers to meet that goal. With fundraising completed, the FHTC Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Rotary Club of Emporia Endowed Scholarship. This endowed scholarship will support one $1,000 scholarship annually for a non-traditional student pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree, who has exhibited academic excellence, community and educational leadership qualities and demonstrated financial need.
“We are very excited that the Rotary Club of Emporia has established this endowed scholarship. It will serve many deserving students in the years to come. The scholarship also represents the Rotary ideals including the Vocational Avenue of Service by showing a commitment to “improving quality of trades, industry, commerce and the professions.” This fits perfectly with what we do at Flint Hills Technical College as it works to meet the workforce development needs of its constituents,” Jodi Heermann, FHTC Executive Director of Advancement stated.
