EHS theater
Ben Reilly, Emporia High senior, and sophomore Logan Herrera portray 10 characters in “Greater Tuna,” a two-man show presented by the Emporia High theater department tonight and Saturday.
The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets cost $5.
The show is set in Tuna, Texas, where you will meet characters such as Didi Snavely of Didi’s Used Weapons or Petey Fisk from the Greater Tuna Humane Society who would like to talk to you about duckth (Petey has a lisp).

Piano production
Pianist Elaine Edwards, who also teaches piano, is being honored with “A Tribute to Elaine Edwards,” planned and given by Emporia State University students who study piano with Martin Cuellar, at 3 p.m. Sunday at Heath Auditorium in Beach Music Hall. Edwards is a longtime member of the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church choir.
Arts gifts
The Emporia Arts Council presents the 10th annual Art Gifts, “reasonably-priced art from over 50 local and regional artists,” beginning extended hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the Arts Center, 618 Mechanic St. Open House with 10 percent savings will be from10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Art offered includes glass, ceramics, paintings, textiles, jewelry and wood. The center will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Nov. 23. The Art Gifts event continues through Dec. 29. The ESU Department of Music presents the Honors Band Concert at 4 p.m. Saturday in Albert Taylor Hall of Plumb Hall.
