Wreck results in arrest involving stolen vehicle

Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies recovered a pickup truck stolen in Sumner County, after the suspect drove through a fence on the Kansas Turnpike to avoid paying a toll charge.
According to information from the sheriff’s office, the incident happened about 9:46 a.m. in the 600 block of Road 160.
Gabriel J. Scott, 20, of Pennsylvania, was arrested and taken to the Lyon County Jail for theft of a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 truck.
Scott had been driving north on the turnpike when he drove through the fence. The case has been turned over to the county attorney’s office for review. Formal charges are pending.
Deputies were assisted by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
