Emporia Schools
These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:
Breakfast
Monday: in-service, no school.
Tuesday: cereal and clodhoppers or PopTarts.
Wednesday: funnel cake or cereal and graham cookies.
Thursday: burrito or cereal and graham cookies.
Friday: little piggy or cereal and graham cookies.
Lunch
Monday: in-service, no school.
Tuesday: bosco sticks, marinara sauce, tossed salad, tropical fruit, cookie.
Wednesday: chicken fajita, soft tortilla, mexican rice, tossed salad, apple wedges.
Thursday: chicken strips, cheesy potatoes, dinner roll, corn, peach half.
Friday: spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, green beans, banana, yogurt.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: beef stew, cottage cheese, biscuit, peaches and melon balls.
Tuesday: pub-battered tilapia, broccoli-cheese soup, rye bread, applesauce.
Wednesday: meatloaf, baked potato, california-blend vegetables, roll, pineapple pudding.
Thursday: roast pork loin, green beans, sweet potatoes, wheat roll, cranberry-apple tart.
Friday: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and pearl onions, bread, apricots.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: oven-baked fish, rice pilaf, asparagus. bre ad, mixed fruit.
Tuesday: pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, wheat roll, apricots.
Wednesday: baked pork chop, candied sweet potatoes, cooked cabbage, wheat bread, banana salad.
Thursday: chicken-fried steak, cheesy hash browns, mixed vegetables, bread, pear and cheese salad.
Friday: roast turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, wheat roll, gelatin, pumpkin cake with frosting.
