Lebo senior Blake Jones was selected to the All-Lyon County League 8-Man football first team at four different positions — three by unanimous selection — to lead seven players who earned unanimous first-team honors.
Jones, in leading Lebo to an 8-2 record and a State playoff berth, was a unanimous first-team choice at quarterback, defensive back and punter, and also was named the squad’s first-team kicker.
Waverly’s Mason Fleming also received unanimous honors as a defensive and offensive lineman.
Five other players were unanimous selections to the all-league first team: Marais des Cygnes Valley defensive lineman Michael Spillman, Waverly defensive end Dakota Foster, Madison defensive back Charlie Schlotterbeck, Madison offensive lineman Ryan Williams and Madison tight end Kaleb Schankie.
Foster (running back) and Schankie (defensive end) also earned first-team honors at a second position.
Lebo’s Cameron Smith earned first-team honors on offense and defense as a linebacker and at running back, as did Waverly’s Matt Hevel, at linebacker and at wide receiver.
The other first-team selections were: Burlingame linebacker Chris Patterson, Marais des Cygnes Valley linebacker Bryan Phillips, Madison running back Michael Luthi, Madison offensive lineman Matt Baysinger and Marais des Cygnes Valley running back Chisom Spencer.
