Hornet tickets going fast

Teams' high rankings create increased demand

Friday, November 9, 2007

Basketball season is upon us, and that means it’s time to lock up those Emporia State season tickets while they’re still available.

Both men’s and women’s teams are ranked in the preseason Top 25, and ESU Ticket Manager Greg Larson said the excitement has sent ticket sales soaring.

“They’ve reached an all-time high, as far as the number of reserved seats that we’ve sold and also the total dollar amount,” Larson said.

If fans are still looking to order reserved seats, the time to do it is now.

Larson said fewer than 40 seats in the reserved gold section remain, and that those should go quickly.

Fans hoping to get good seats for Jan. 9’s games against Washburn also would be wise to act quickly. Those also are going fast.

Plenty of general admission seats remain, both for season ticket packages and also single games, which includes the Washburn games.

Fans can reserve their seats by calling the ESU ticket office at 341-NEST or by going online to www.emporia.edu/athletics.

The ESU men play their first home game at 7 p.m. Saturday in an exhibition against the ESU Alumni team. The Lady Hornets open their home season with a preseason game against Tabor at 7 p.m. Monday.
