Brigadier General Deborah Rose of the Kansas National Guard is expected to draw girls from across Kansas when she visits here during “Something Old, Something New, Something Red, White and Blue” at the Amend Girl Scout Center on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Emporian Sarah Roemer has coordinated the event as her Gold Award project, the highest community service award given in Girl Scouts.
Rose is director of the Joint Force Headquarters of the Kansas National Guard.
“General Rose is proud of her affiliation with the Girl Scouts of the Flint Hills and credits her leadership skills to her years as a Girl Scout,” a news release stated.
Girls aged 5 to 18 may register to attend by downloading a registration form at www.gsflinthills.org or by calling 342-4532.
