Friday Thoughts is a light-hearted commentary.
LAST SUNDAY, Emporia School Superintendent John Heim ran in the New York City marathon. He logged the 26.2 miles in five hours and 19 minutes.
Running that many miles is quite an athletic feat and a useful skill to have. For instance, I wonder if it is comforting for John to know that if his car broke down that he could just run to the Olpe Chicken House for a big fried chicken meal and then run back?
