Benefit for Osage City church
The Grace Lutheran Church in Osage City will have a bazaar and dinner on Saturday. The bazaar will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with rolls and coffee served from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature brisket, potatoes and beef gravy, vegetables, salads, homemade rolls or Swedish rye bread, pie and coffee. The cost for adults is $7 and $3 for children 10 and younger. Raffle items, baked goods, Swedish rye bread and crafts will be offered. All proceeds will go to the capital building improvement fund.
Sale for students
The William Allen White PTO will have its annual bake sale and food sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday during the arts and crafts sale at the Anderson Building on the Lyon County Fairgrounds. Items for sale will include sloppy joes, sloppy dogs and hotdog meals along with pies, cookies, brownies and breads. Melvern lunch
The last penny lunch of the season will be served at the Melvern United Methodist church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Lunch consists of hot ground beef or sloppy joe sandwiches, a multitude of salads, deviled eggs, pie and homemade ice cream. Come join us while visiting with friends and neighbors. Stag supper in Lebo
A “Stag Supper” featuring mountain oysters as the entree will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the American Legion Post 332 in Lebo. The meal also will include mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans, lettuce salad, coffee and carbonated beverages. The cost will be $7 per person.
Proceeds will be used to support Legion activities.
Books for Andrew’s dog
Proceeds from an Usborne book sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday will benefit Andrew Smith, an Olpe boy with autism whose family is raising money for the 4 Paws for Ability in order to purchase a service dog. Sunday’s sale will be at Messiah Lutheran Church’s fellowship hall, 1101 Neosho St.
A second Usborne book sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 17, during the church’s annual Harvest Home Festival in the Anderson Building.
