Hay for animals
The Humane Society of the Flint Hills is sponsoring the annual Hay Give-Away from 8 a.m. until noon Nov. 17 at the East Emporia Veterinary Clinic. This year’s hay was donated and brought to this location by longtime supporters of the program, Walter and Helen Tredway. The hay will be given out in amounts appropriate for the bedding of outside dogs and cats. This is bedding hay and not to be used for feed.
Bethel dinner
The annual Harvest Supper for the Bethel community will be served at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the school house. The Pep and Progress Community Unit will provide the turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy and beverages. Each family is to bring a side dish, dessert and table service.
