Land annexation, liquor in auditorium on agenda

City commission members will give and receive awards during a meeting that will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the commission meeting room in the civic building.
Several city employees will receive certificates from the Kansas League of Municipalities. A certificate of merit award will be received from “Minorities & SUCCESS,” according to an agenda released Monday afternoon.
Commissioners will consider:
• a resolution to approve the Lyon County Mitigation Plan
• a resolution to set a public hearing for renewing the Neighborhood Revitalization Program
• an ordinance to annex 1.55 acres of land at 1900 Road J, at 30th Avenue and Prairie Street
• an ordinance rezoning the east 90 feet of Norfolk Iron & Metal from I-1, light industrial, to I-2, heavy industrial
• a resolution of support for the Northern Flyer Alliance
• a resolution amending park rental policy
• a resolution amending policy on sale of alcohol at William L. White Auditorium
• a resolution amending fees for solid waste at the transfer station
Commissioners also will be asked to waive the bid requirement for a shag truck at the transfer station.
City Manager Matt Zimmerman will report to the commission on city activities.
