Today

The Emporia Chess Society meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Granada Coffee Company and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Pyramid Pizza. All ages and skill levels are welcome, including children. There is no charge.

Emporia Masonic Lodge 12 meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 424 Merchant St.

Tuesday

The Etude Club will take a trip to Abilene for lunch at 11:30 at the Kirby House and then a tour of the Seely Mansion.

The Rotary Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.

The Junto Club meets at the home of Janell North. Ann Knecht will give the program.

The Research Club meets at 1:30 p.m. with Jeanne Hatcher. Donna Storm will give the program.

The Emporia Area Retired School Personnel meets at 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion, 2921 W. 12th Ave . The program, “Flint Hills School History,” will be given by James Hoy, professor in the English Department at Emporia State University.

Saturday

Alpha Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa meets at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Mary Clare White.

The Emporia Airport Action Group meets at approximately 9:30 a.m. every Saturday in the main terminal at the Emporia Municipal Airport for “hangar talk,” coffee and doughnuts. “You are free to move about” the airport.
