Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that the city of Burlington could see an influx of chinchilla visitors in late March or early April of next year, when a group of chinchilla enthusiasts hosts a show at the 4-H Community Building.
Mike Lawrence, a member of the Greater Kansas City Chapter of Empress Chinchilla Breeders Cooperative asked Burlington City Council members to approve the use of the building. Lawrence said there would be silent auctions, raffles and door prizes during the day.
The show which is the first of its kind in town will be advertised nationally within the organization.
Council Grove
The Chase County Leader-News reported that Morris County Hospital launched a $1.5 million campaign to help fund a $3.7 million technology upgrade, expansion and remodeling of the Family Health Center and increase funding for its Health Education and Scholarship Funds.
The campaign is being launched to meet the funding needs of MCH’s immediate capital and technology upgrades.
