File taxes online

Residents of Lyon County can now file their personal property taxes online rather than mailing their statements.
The Lyon County Appraiser’s Office announced the new availability this week.
Lyon County Commissioners approved the purchase of online filing software for the Appraiser’s Office.
Effective Jan. 1, 2008, pre-enrollment and passwords will be a part of security measures included in the online filing software. Renditions will be mailed on Jan. 1, 2008, and property owners will have the choice to file by mail, in person or online before March 15, which is the deadline for filing to prevent a filing deadline penalty.
