Church garage sale
The New Life Christian Church of Emporia will have a garage sale from noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1481 Road 175 (formerly Wild Rose Antiques). Proceeds will be used for church projects.
Paying for gas, hotels
An Emporia youth basketball team, Prime Time, will sell Christian T-shirts at Wal-Mart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The team is raising money to help pay travel expenses to compete in the MAYB League, according to coach Earl Williams. Team members are students in the ninth to 11th grades.

Penny Supper
The Hartford United Methodist Women will serve the Penny Supper beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday at the church. Some of the foods to be served are ham loaf, $1.75; chicken pie, $1.50; pork cutlets, $2; a variety of vegetables and salads, 50 cents; homemade pie, $1.25; and ice cream, 75 cents.
Community rummage sale
The Neosho Rapids Community Projects will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 233 N. Main St. in Neosho Rapids. To donate items, call Julie at 343-3926.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward the purchase of a community marquee.
June Lunch Bunch
The Reading United Methodist Church will begin its June Lunch Bunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chuch. For $5, diners will get barbecue sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans brownies or cookies and ice cream, all homemade by the Reading United Methodist Women.
