The Emporia Energy 16 & U softball team went 1-3 in a tournament in Council Grove on Sunday.
The Energy began the day with losses to the Chapman Rocks, 9-1, and the Kansas Blaze, 8-3.
Then, a rematch against the Blaze to begin bracket play resulted in an 8-7 win for the Energy. On the mound for the Energy win was Cassandra Huth, who also went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in the winning run with a two-run double.
The Energy lost its final game to the Marysville Magic, 17-0.
Christena Zumbrum and Lauren Kimble paced the Emporia attack during the tournament with four hits apiece.
The Energy plays host to home tournaments in Emporia the next two weekends.
