Wants coverage

Friday, May 25, 2007

I JUST want you to know how disappointed many people in Chase County are in the poor coverage our high school sports is given in your paper.

As you know, our boys baseball team has earned the right to play in the state tournament this week. Amazingly enough, there has been very little in your paper about this great event. The last time I checked, we are still classified an “area team” but you could sure fool me, no more coverage than we get.

I feel our kids deserve the same amount of publicity you give to the other schools in the area. So, how about trying to improve on your coverage from now on?

One last note, this tournament is being held in Emporia. A lot of the money spent will come from Chase County people.

Congratulations to our boys on a 16-2 record. We are very proud of you. GO BULLDOGS!

Write your own dam paper if you want coverage, Thats not our problem. Stop whining and start writing about your ONE horse town.

Barb, get off your high horse!!! You sound like a very bitter person with little reasoning. Chase county has a news paper. All they are asking for is more coverage of their sports like any proud town. I feel sorry that you only see your way of things. What a cold person you are! Emporia needs to spread it's wings and envelope the outer areas. After all, Emporia needs to do more to stay alive.

I know they have a newspaper Davee they screwed up a very serious case I was having 15 years ago. They got none of the facts straight and it cost me. The gazette printed the story right but it was too late by that point. I have many reasons to be bitter, I think people from huge cities have attitude small towns dont have, I know I can be harsh but its all about surviving in a world where everything sucks at times I will try to watch that (a little at least).

What you all fail to see is that the gazette is a totally different newspaper from twenty years ago. We have a new generation of people who are not afraid to explore all of the new options for writing and editing a newspaper. I agree, it has a ways to go and improve upon it's view points, especially political. So far, all I see is that it is becoming a better paper all the time and much more informative than ever. I do hope to eventually see some of the posts for the articles. I want more people of this county to know exactly how people feel about some of our leadership and what effects it has on the towns.

Change is a beautiful thing and should be embraced. I too love what the Gazette has done Davee. It is different and thinking out of the box is always inventive.
