Not enough room?

IT WAS Friday’s paper (May 4) I believe, that carried an article on a meeting being held at the Grace Methodist Church to understand, and I suppose assist immigrants. This morning (May 6) I heard on the radio that our board of education is concerned with our schools being overcrowded. If we had a board of education that truly cared about doing its job, they would be contacting President Bush to see how much longer (possibly forever) our federal government is going to ignore our border laws. Also, they could do a survey among these immigrants and one also done in their home country to try to figure out how many more schools we are going to need.
Without foresight in our planning and consultations from Kansas Rep. Don Hill, U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback, and President Bush, it is difficult to know how many more schools we are going to have to build. Two new schools weren’t enough. Let’s get your homework done, board of education. As an added note, I think it would only be proper for the people who had signs in their yards for Don Hill, and the people who voted for him, to step up to the plate and pony up a “little extra” in taxes.

I so agree. But, why should we foot the bill for " illegal" immigrants?? The children are getting cheated enough as it is on their education because too many teachers have to spend the extra time to learn spanish and for them to learn English. I do not believe the teachers are paid near enough to put up with the things they have to do.
