Lyon County commissioners will hold a special session Wednesday morning to allow for a public hearing regarding Lyon County Road and Bridge Department’s five-year construction plan.
The public hearing will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse. Public comment is invited to this session. Included in the five-year plan is the South Avenue Improvement Project, which runs from Prairie Street west to the entrance to the transfer station. Several bridge replacements are included in the plan.
Following the public hearing, commissioners will consider action concerning the county’s five-year plan, followed by adjournment of the special session.
Also on Wednesday’s agenda:
• At 8:15 a.m., county commissioners will give their reports.
• At 8:30 a.m., Lougene Marsh, executive director of Flint Hills Community Health Center, will ask commissioners to consider renewal of contract for food service establishment inspection and regulation services. In addition, Marsh will review the quarterly report for the first quarter of 2007.
• Chip Woods, Lyon County engineer, will discuss purchasing the remaining rock pile from Harshman Construction at the Coffman Quarry at an estimated 8,198 tons; discuss request of residents in Quail Ridge Estates for hard-surfacing the roads in the subdivision; discuss purchase of 12-foot soil saver from Deer Trail Implement for $1,875; and discuss drainage issue on Road P north of Road 150.
• At 10:30, commissioners will discuss a surveillance system in the commission chambers.
