HAPPY Earth Day!
April 22 was Earth Day, in case you didn’t realize it. On that day, I looked out my front window and spotted some marigold seedlings growing in little plastic cups lying in the middle of my front yard. There was a 30 mph wind blowing, and the plants-in-cups were seriously beat up from tumbling across the grass before I saw them. Then I noticed the same thing in a front yard across the street. Later, I learned it was Earth Day and figured someone was celebrating by distributing these flowers. “Might as well plant ‘em,” I thought. Well, today the plants are alive and putting out fresh, beautiful blossoms. They will cheer me all summer. I would like to say “Thanks very much!” to the anonymous donor.
