‘Bachelor’ auditions
An open casting call is being held for the ABC reality series, “The Bachelor,” according to an announcement from ABC affiliate KTKA, Channel 49, in Topeka.
The series is “searching for America’s most eligible women,” the announcement said. Applicants need to be “ambitious, charming and successful bachelorettes who are ready to find true love.”
The casting call will be on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vinewood, 2842 SE 29th St., Topeka.
Women who want participate can pick up applications at the Channel 49 studios or download one from www.49abcnews.com.

Lyon County Fair Board
The Lyon County Fair Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in its office on the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
Reception on Tuesday
Donald Thomsen will be the guest of honor at a retirement reception Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Logan Avenue School. The reception is open to the public.
Thomsen has worked for the Emporia school district for 40 years.
