Lyon County Sheriff’s officers took one man into custody and are looking for two more people after a chase ended in a non-injury accident early Tuesday morning.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, a deputy had attempted to stop a vehicle for several traffic infractions about 1:40 a.m. near Road 180.
The vehicle took off at high speed and turned into the west entrance of the Green Acres trailer park at 1700 Road E. The occupants jumped from the vehicle, which ran into two parked cars and stopped. The vehicle was running and its transmission was in “drive” when the deputy arrived.
With assistance from city and university police officers, Chad Kammerer, 21, of Emporia was found in a row of trees and taken into custody. Charges are pending with the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.
Another man and a woman also are believed to be involved.
The man was believed to have shown up at a home southwest of the trailer park. The homeowner told the man to leave and called law enforcement.
The incident remains under investigation. People with information are asked to call the sheriff’s office, 342-5545.
